Cher Becomes One of 5 Million Reasons to Get the New Wu-Tang Clan Album

By Courtney E. Smith

Do you believe in Wu? For Cher, the question gets an auto-tuned yes as her representatives confirm to Rolling Stone that she is, indeed, the mysterious voice on a couple of tracks on their top-secret new album, Once Upon a Time in Shaolin.

The collaboration came to light yesterday after Forbes released a video of their reporter who traveled to Morocco to meet with their producer Tarik Azzougarh and preview the Wu-Tang Clan album. In the few seconds they got on film, Azzougarah teased a short shoutout that, it turns out, was done by Cher.

As part of an unusual campaign, only one copy of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin will be pressed. RZA previously said that the band have already been offered $5 million for the album, but did not say if it was a person, entity or alien being. Fans of the group quickly put together a Kickstarter campaign to raise their own $5 million to bid on the album.
