Eminem Will Become First Rapper to Headline London’s Wembley Stadium

By Kevin Rutherford

Eminem has taken to using his Instagram as a means to announce major shows. First there was his rumored spot at the Austin City Limits Music Festival that stemmed from a post last month, and now, the rapper is repping an upcoming show in one of England’s most hallowed arenas.

The new Instagram post from Tuesday afternoon (May 6) announces Eminem’s July 11 show at Wembley Stadium in London. In doing so, he becomes the first rapper to headline a show there, The Guardian reports.

“Never mind Hyde Park,” the caption on the Instagram photo reads, referencing the just-canceled Hyde Park show the rapper was in talks to play at the royal park this summer, “It’s Eminem.”

The show adds yet another notch to the rapper’s belt when it comes to major shows this summer. He’ll also be headlining Lollapalooza in August, as well as multiple shows with Rihanna as part of the Monster Tour.

Tickets for the show go on sale May 9. It also marks the rapper’s first London show since 2001.
