Scotty McCreery, Friends Robbed During a ‘Very Scary’ Home Invasion

Country singer and American Idol winner Scotty McCreery and some of his friends were robbed during a home invasion early Monday morning (May 5).

“It was definitely a very scary night,” McCreery said in a tweet he posted that evening. “Luckily my friends and I are safe and the Raleigh PD is on the case.”

The armed robbery took place in Raleigh, N.C. in an apartment where McCreery had been visiting friends. The apartment is close to North Carolina State University, where 20-year-old McCreery is a student.

According to Raleigh’s, Raleigh Police said that officers were called to the apartment just before 2am the morning of May 5. Three armed men had entered the apartment and taken wallets, cash and electronic items during the incident. McCreery was among the robbery victims. Fortunately no one was hurt.

WBTW reports that police are working to get good descriptions of the suspects.
