The rumors are true. After speculation last week that Gwen Stefani would be joining The Voice, the news that the No Doubt frontwoman would be added as a coach for the show was confirmed yesterday (April 29) during an announcement from Carson Daly on last night’s show.

“Before we start the show, I want to make a very, very big announcement for us here,” Daly said. “This all just happened moments ago. We’re very happy to officially announce that two superstars will be joining the next season in these coaches’ chairs: Pharrell Williams and Gwen Stefani will be added to the Voice family. We’re so happy to have them join our ever-growing Voice family. They’re both incredible people, insanely talented.”

Stefani will replace Christina Aguilera and sit alongside Pharrell Williams, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton on the seventh season of the show. On May 5, both Williams and Stefani will take The Voice stage to perform. Williams will perform “Come Get It Bae” off his latest album G I R L while Stefani will sing “Hollaback Girl,” which was produced by Williams.

Stefani’s last album was No Doubt’s 2012 reunion effort, Push and Shove, which was her first full length since her 2006 solo album The Sweet Escape. Here’s her instagram she posted of her making The Voice logo.
