Joseph Gordon-Levitt better watch his back because he’s got some serious lip syncing competition in Emma Stone.
Jimmy Fallon has shown us that Hollywood has a knack for miming lyrics to famous songs in his Tonight Show segment “Lip Sync Battle” and last night (April 28), while promoting her new Spider-Man film, Stone (aka Gwen Stacy) gave a performance worthy of an honorary Oscar.
Stone started off with Blues Traveler‘s “Hook” and while some may have wondered why she didn’t go with “Run-Around,” once she got to the tongue-twisting bridge, it was clear that this was not Stone’s first lip sync battle. The only thing that would have made this better is if she would have borrowed John Popper’s harmonica vest.
Jimmy Fallon didn’t go easy on Ms. Stone, pulling out the big guns for a swaggy version of Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” before showing off his falsetto face with his version of Styx’s “Mr. Roboto.”
But Stone could not be stopped, kicking things into high gear with her take on another fast-paced lyrical number, DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.” And that’s exactly what she did.
Watch the epic battle below and see Stone’s new film, Spider-Man 2 when it hits theaters this Friday (May 2).
