By Annie Reuter

Paul Simon and his wife Edie Brickell were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct over the weekend.

According to the NC Advertiser,  police were called on Saturday, April 26 to the couple’s home in New Canaan, Conn., around 8:20 p.m. after a disturbance. While details weren’t initially provided, the couple is due in court this morning with expected arraignment today at noon.

Simon married Brickell in 1992. They have three children together.

According to CBS station WTIC, Simon has owned a home in New Canaan since 2007. A press briefing will take place later today from local police to relay more information.

UPDATE: NC Advertiser, which originally reported the story, was in the courtroom during the arraignment today and noted that Simon and Brickell entered “holding hands” and were both smiling.

“The both of us are fine together,” Simon reportedly told the court. “We are going to go back home and watch our son play baseball. We had an argument. It was very atypical of us.”

However, both Simon and Brickell will still be due back in court May 13.
