Following in the band’s tradition for inventive music videos (“Barbra Streisand,” “It’s You”), “NRG” finds the duo watching late-night TV when an infomercial for do-it-all product “NRG” comes on. The spot features the DJs getting their Billy Mays on in matching blue shirts and khakis backing up pitchman “Dr. Dale Rattington,” billed as an “NRG specialist.”
The clip goes on to show how “NRG” works on everything from “romance problems” to “trouble with rhythm loss” before turning into a full-on dance party with Duck Sauce (still sporting the blue shirts and khakis) manning the CDJs.
After rocking the Sahara tent over both weekends of Coachella 2014, Duck Sauce is set to take their over-the-top (and highly entertaining) stage show to this year’s edition of the Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco over the weekend of Aug. 8-9.
