Like any writer worth their salt, Pharrell knows to not gild the lily. “I don’t need no adjectives for this girl,” he sings, and sure enough with the video for “Marilyn Monroe” he lets the visuals do most of the talking.
Taken from his recent album G I R L, the clip shows Pharrell moving in and out of a purple-hued fantasy world with a bass-playing woman behind the moon. You’ll also find some light choreography, which will make you pine for the heyday of dance-centric videos. Alas, this one’s pretty good. Watch below.
