Dierks Bentley is all about getting drunk on a plane– and now you can, too. In celebration of his new single, “Drunk on a Plane,” he launched a photo app that allows fans to upload their personal photos and add their own story to the snapshot with various graphics.
The app is connected through Facebook and Twitter. Once logging in, fans can choose a photo of theirs to upload and add images to it including pilot hats, beer, a glass of champagne, a mustache, cowboy hat, acoustic guitar, confetti and more.
Once you add the necessary graphics to create your own image, 30 seconds of Bentley’s single plays. Simply click finish and you can post your photo on whichever social network you choose as well as keep up with the others who have come drunkenly before you.
In an interview with Radio.com earlier this year, Bentley described “Drunk on a Plane” as “just a funny song about a dude that got stood up at the wedding, still had his tickets to Cancun, couldn’t get his money back, so he gets drunk on a plane. It’ll be a fun video to make on that one for sure.”
We caught up with Sheryl Crow during the ACM Awards after rehearsal with Bentley for their performance of “I Hold On” and she agreed. When the subject of “Drunk on a Plane” came up, Crow told us that she had been lucky enough to hear the song soon after it was written.
And she immediately loved it. “I was like, ‘touchdown!'”
Bentley said one thing he loves about the song is that, while it’s about drinking and carrying on at 35,000 feet, it contains a multitude of emotions. “Even though it’s called ‘Drunk on a Plane,’ there is some depth to the story, and to the music,” he said.
