Miley Cyrus Heads Elle’s Women in Music Issue
By Kevin Rutherford
Fresh off the newest stops of her Bangerz tour in New York last weekend during which she literally straddled a giant hot dog in the grand finale, Miley Cyrus is making headlines again – or, at least, the covers of magazines.
For Elle magazine’s latest Women in Music issue, Cyrus graces the issue’s cover. Deeming her “crazy smart,” the cover teaser promises insight into the plan she has for her career. The first step? Have fun, naturally.
Opposing her appearances and fashion choices over the past few months, which have often included revealing, skin-baring, faux-whatever-you-want-to-call-it outfits and hairdos, Cyrus takes a glamorous turn for the cover, sporting a silver- and gold-sequined getup by Marc Jacobs, her blonde hair in a short, stylish pixie cut. She liked the cover shot so much, she tweeted it out a day early and earned nearly 13,000 retweets.
After the buzz over monster hits “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball” died down, Cyrus has largely stuck to her touring regimen since the new year — aside, of course, from a stop in the recording studio with the Flaming Lips to record a Beatles cover and finding out she’s the subject of a college course at Skidmore University in New York.
