Pixies surprised fans in 2012 with their EP-1. Then last yearafter firing bassist Kim Shattuck and hiring her replacement Paz Lenchantin, the band released another small collection of songs, EP-2 and then this year’s EP-3 without much fanfare. But, its their latest announcement that should leave fans floored.

The band will release, Indie Cindy, their follow-up to 1991’s Trompe le Monde, on April 29 in North America via the band’s own indie label, Pixiesmusic.

“We started seriously talking about recording new music about four years ago,” said drummer David Lovering in a statement.  “New music seemed like something we just had to do, we just couldn’t continue to go out and tour without anything new.  So the talk evolved into writing and recording, and we’re all very happy with the way everything worked out.”

The 12-track album, their first full studio release in over two decades, was produced by Gil Norton, who worked on DoolittleBossanova, and Trompe le Monde albums.

The album, which was recorded during October 2012 at Rockfield Studios in Wales, UK, features “Bagboy,” the band’s first new song in more than a decade plus the eight tracks from the band’s three recent EPs. It marks the first time fans will be able to all three EPs in one collection.
