“When people have the freedom to choose, they choose wrong,” Meryl Streep says in the latest trailer for the upcoming feature film The Giver.
In the minute-and-a-half clip we see disorder, secrets and uncertainty. And if you look quickly at the 45-second mark, you will also see Taylor Swift. As a brunette. Watch below:
Last year it was confirmed that Swift would have a role in the film, which is based off of Lois Lowry’s young adult novel of the same name. Swift finds herself alongside Streep, Jeff Bridges, Katie Holmes and Brenton Thwaites in The Giver. Additional cast members include True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard, The Odd Life of Timothy Green’s Odeya Rush and Cameron Monaghan of Shameless.
In the film, Swift plays Bridges’ daughter Rosemary, who is also described as “a girl with pale eyes.” Last fall Swift spoke about how the role came to her.
“When I played my shows in L.A., I was unaware that people from this movie were in the audience, and I had a role offered to me the next week,” Swift said. “I think my shows tend to be very emotional and moody and they saw something they needed in that role. So, I’m very honored and lucky to get to be a part of it, and we’ll see how it goes.”
