It seems Neil Young didn’t just make good use of Jack White’s recording studio, he seemed to find some use for the owner himself.

In an interview with Billboard, Young said his forthcoming album, A Letter Home, which was recorded at White’s Third Man studio in Nashville, features White on two tracks.

Young also said the record would be coming “very soon.”

“It’s not ready for prime time yet,” Young said of the album, which includes covers by his favorite writers. “They’re songs that I love, songs that changed my life, songs that made it so that I understood what someone else was saying to me, songs by greater writers.”

Young called the record “very unique” and “like a time capsule.”

“It doesn’t sound like anything you’ve heard that was made recently,”  he said. “And some great songs, some beautiful music.”

In addition to his release of A Letter Home, Young said an album of original music is also on its way, as is his second book, Special Deluxe, which is a follow-up to his 2012 memoir Waging Heavy Peace.

This week at South by Southwest, Young launched his PonoMusic service and player, which is made for audiophiles frustrated with the limited sound quality found on most digital music players, Pono offers potential users what they call the “highest resolution digital music available.”
