Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys & Kendrick Lamar Collaborate on New Song for ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

By Scott T. Sterling

Late last year, we learned that a veritable supergroup featuring Pharrell Williams, ex-Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Incubus ax-slinger Mike Einziger, Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics and award-winning composer Hans Zimmer had come together to produce music for the The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Today (March 11), it was announced that Williams, Kendrick Lamar, Alicia Keys and Zimmer teamed up for the song “It’s On Again,” which will be featured on the film’s original soundtrack.

“I’m very excited to be a part of such a powerful collaboration…” Keys said in a press release. “This is the next chapter in the Spider-Man legacy and we really feel ‘It’s On Again’ captures the experience, the story—and most importantly—the meaning behind the film, which is that we all have the potential to be extraordinary. There’s a little bit of a Super Hero in all of us.”

The soundtrack will also include new music from Williams as well as “Sweater Weather” outfit The Neighbourhood and Mad Decent pop artist, LIZ.

The Amazing Spider Man 2 soundtrack hits retailers on April 22, with the movie hitting the big screen in America on May 2.
