When EDM sensation Steve Aoki found himself at his wit’s end with the bad behavior of his dog Coco and Tweeted about it, manager Matt Colon had the foresight to hit up none less than the “Dog Whisperer” himself, Cesar Millan, with an emergency 911 tweet.
The call out to Millan was successful, with the pooch psychiatrist connecting with the superstar DJ to help him get his wayward dog under control. Aoki returned the favor by bestowing Millan with the highest honor at one his shows: a big ol’ birthday cake right in the kisser.
It all went down in San Jose, CA, resulting in this new video, “The Cake Whisperer.” Aoki and Millan have a nice bonding moment after the show, with the DJ thanking Millan for helping him with Coco, while the dog master lauds Aoki for bringing him to his first-ever concert and pelting him with delicious cake.
The story of Millan coming to Aoki’s canine rescue is part of the promotional lead up to a new Millan TV series, Cesar 911, which premieres this week on the Nat Geo WILD network.
Aoki was just announced as one of the headliners of the upcoming Mysteryland EDM festival, with the long-running Netherlands-based event touching down in America (on the grounds of the original Woodstock, no less) for the first time this year over the already-crowded Memorial Day weekend (May 24-25). It’s the same weekend that Detroit rolls out the Movement festival and EDC NY rocks New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
