The Academy of Country Music announced today (March 6) the first set of artists who will perform during the 49th annual ACM Awards ceremony, which airs April 6 on CBS.
Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Keith Urban and the Band Perry, who are all 2014 ACM Award nominees, will perform live during the ceremony from the stage of the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
Bryan, Lambert, Shelton, and Strait are also up for the coveted Entertainer of the Year award (Taylor Swift is the fifth nominee).
In addition to sharing co-hosting duties with Shelton and performing during the broadcast, Bryan will team up with Florida Georgia Line for the fourth annual ACM Fan Jam at the nearby Mandalay Bay Events Center. Portions of that event will be included in the live broadcast as well.
This is just the first performer announcement. Expect additional acts and presenters in the coming weeks.
Tim McGraw, Lambert and Urban lead the list of nominations for the 49th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which were announced on Jan. 29 via a ‘digital press conference’ conducted on the Academy’s Facebook page and Twitter accounts.
McGraw and Lambert each received seven nominations, while Urban received six. Other top nominees include Lee Brice, Kacey Musgraves, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift, who each received five nominations; the groups Florida Georgia Line and Lady Antebellum, which each received four; and Luke Bryan and Darius Rucker, who each received three.
Watch the 49th ACM Awards live on Sunday, April 6 at 8pm ET on CBS.
