The 2014 Academy Awards are well underway, with several musical performances dotting the filmic night, including, but not limited to, Bette Midler singing “Wind Beneath My Wings”.
All of the Best Original Song nominees all performed at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. There was U2, who performed their “Ordinary Love” from the movie Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs performed “The Moon Song” from Her, accompanied by Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend on acoustic guitar, and Pharrell got delirious with his performance of “Happy” accompanied by a group of dancers and a high school chorus.
Battling for the most ubiquitous song right now is “Let It Go”, nominated from the Disney animated movie Frozen, which was given a spine-tingling performance by Idina Menzel.
