At the GRAMMYs last month, Beyoncé brought sexy back with a little help from her hubby, Jay Z for her Flashdance-inspired performance of “Drunk in Love.” But for her first live television performance of “XO,” off her 2013 self-titled album, Bey decided to keep things classy.
Queen Bey took the stage today (Feb. 19) at the 2014 Brit Awards in a sparkly floorlength emerald gown to sing the song, which she has said was written in dedication to her many, many loyal fans.
Though Bey sings about turning the lights out, her performance was filled with flashing lights, thanks in part to the three gigantic light-up cubes behind her that bathed the singer in every color of the rainbow.

Earlier this year, Bey angered many NASA employees and families of those who lost loved ones from the Challenger space shuttle when she sampled the audio from the day the Challenger exploded, on ‘XO.’ NASA later responded to Beyoncé’s use of the audio, saying it “should never be trivialized.”
