Singer and actress Lucy Hale‘s 2014 will be one to remember. The Pretty Little Liars actress will release her debut album, Road Between, on June 3 but before that she will take the famed Grande Ole Opry stage in Nashville on Feb. 21.
“This has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl singing Faith Hill and Shania Twain songs into my hairbrush in the mirror,” she said in a press release. “It was both exciting and scary for me to be so vulnerable making this album, and it’s turned out to be something genuinely me and something I’m really proud to share.”
Last month, Hale released her debut video for her first single, “You Sound Good To Me,” which was written by Ashley Gorley, Luke Laird and Hillary Lindsey. The lead track to her forthcoming album, “You Sound Good To Me” embodies a radio-friendly country sound complete with foot-stomping rhythms.
The singer told USA Today that she grew up aspiring to be a singer, looking up to artists including Martina McBride and Faith Hill. Hale added in a Twitter chat that country music allows her to be herself.
“I don’t have to hide behind a character, wardrobe or dialogue,” she said. “My music is 100% who I am and where I’m at in life.”
