Imagine you’re in the lead-up to your debut album and you’re lucky enough to land Justin Bieber on the remix of one of your singles. Then imagine that Bieber goes totally haywire to the max, eventually resulting in his arrest within weeks of you dropping said track. That’s exactly the position Sage the Gemini finds himself in with “Gas Pedal.”
In conversation with Radio.com (above) a few weeks ago, Sage told us he still looks up to Bieber, how fans can expect real music on his debut album and explains the yiking phenomenon — which he jumpstarted with his “Red Nose” video. For the uninitiated, yiking is the Bay Area’s answer to twerking, so don’t be surprised if you see Miley Cyrus doing it on a TV near you before long.
Sage the Gemini’s first album, Remember Me, drops on March 25. Until then he’ll be shaking it like a red nose and repping for the Bay Area.
