Since “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” Mariah Carey has had the lockdown on Christmas. And now she’s got her sights set on Valentine’s Day.
Her new single, “You’re Mine (Eternal),” dropped today (February 12) as the precursor to her forthcoming album, The Art of Letting Go, set for a May 6 release.
The original version was written and produced by Carey and Rodney Jerkins, the hitmaker behind Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me,” Lady Gaga and Beyoncé’s “Telephone,” and the unforgettable Destiny’s Child track “Say My Name.”
In addition to the straight track, Carey also released an R&B remix version featuring Trey Songz.
This is all a precursor for the video’s premiere, happening tonight on MTV at 7:50 p.m. ET.
Carey’s new album was originally due out last July, but the singer delayed its release and then spent the rest of 2013 recovering from a shoulder injury she suffered filming a music video last summer.
