Longstanding DJ superstar Tiesto is not taking the current onslaught of EDM lying down.
Instead of complaining about sound-alike tracks and pop music disguising itself as dance music, Tiesto and director Skinny have crafted a sexy Americana road trip with enough skin, tousled hair and euphoric nightlife energy to show EDM newbies how it’s really done.
The clip is for “Red Light,” Tiesto’s latest single released late last year that combines a melodic pop sensibility with the DJ/producer’s trademark trance sound. Watch the video below:
Tiesto himself shows up for the clip’s climactic moment, when the young ladies’ journey leads them to the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, where the DJ presides over a packed club Hakkasan (and coincidentally holds a residency).
The Dutch DJ was recently announced among the headliners of this year’s Spring Awakening music festival, held in Chicago’s Soldier Field over the weekend of June 13-15. Kaskade, Diplo, Steve Aoki and Pretty Lights are also among the artists on the bill.
