Lana Del Rey seems to be keeping the leakers at bay by spilling the beans about her new album on her own terms.
In a video that was filmed while she was signing autographs for her fans, Del Rey let it slip that her new album, Ultraviolence, will be out May 1.
After doing so—very nonchalantly, it should be noted—the fans waiting for her autograph went a little nuts, leading Lana, who realized she had let the cat out of the bag, to ask with a smile,”Wait, is that on video?” Yes, Lana it definitely was.
The singer does backtrack a little, saying that she thinks it will be out May 1. No official confirmations have been made as of now.
Lana also tells fans that the album is “so good that it made me forget about the last record. I’m just in love with it.”
She then added, “I don’t know, there’s something about it that I have that feeling about it. I have that romantic feeling about it.”
Since announcing the title of the follow-up to her 2012 album, Born To Die, last year, Lana has given a few details of the album, here and there calling it “absolutely gorgeous – darker then the first – so dark it’s almost unlistenable and wrong. But I love it.”
