Lorde‘s 2014 is shaping up to be nearly as big as her 2013. The singer-songwriter recently performed and picked up two GRAMMYs for “Royals,” and plans to integrate these career-defining moments in her new music.
During a visit with Australian radio station Triple J, Lorde spoke about her rising career and covered “Retrograde,” from GRAMMY Best New Artist nominee James Blake.
“What I’m going through is so abnormal and I feel like a lot of people at my level don’t write about it, because a lot of what we do is boring,” she said. “It’s interesting for me to write about the weird little details of doing what I do.”

Lorde then went into an animated cover of Blake’s “Retrograde,” but this isn’t the first time she has covered Blake. Last month, Lorde debuted his song in her set during her show in Auckland.
