Last year, Bonnaroo made a spectacle of their line-up announcement, recruiting Weird Al Yankovic to help unveil the acts, which included Paul McCartney, and Tom Petty, for an event they lovingly called BLAM— Bonnaroo Lineup Announcement Megathon. This year they’re looking to take BLAM to the next level, a mega BLAM if you will, that will include two funny masters of ceremony and a SuperJam.
Bonnaroo is set to reveal its 2014 lineup on Wednesday, February 19 at 9 pm EST with a little help from Saturday Night Live cast member Taran Killam and comedian Hannibal Buress, who will emcee the night’s event.
And just like the fest itself, the night will also include a SuperJam session that is set to feature The Flaming Lips and Ben Folds. Other acts participating in the jam are set to be announced in the upcoming weeks.
Doesn’t seem like enough for you? Well, don’t worry, this year BLAM is airing a pre-show, which will take place two hours before the live broadcast at 7 pm EST. No word yet on who or what will appear at this early show event.
Watch the announcement live on February 19 via Bonnaroo.com or through your XBOX using the Bonnaroo app. Yes, there is an app for this.
If you just don’t feel like you can watch the announcement alone, check out the list of record stores who are throwing their own viewing parties.
