George Zimmerman, the man who was acquitted for the murder of Trayvon Martin, has elected to fight rapper DMX, according to TMZ. The Ruff Ryder and actor was selected out of over 15,000 applicants, all who wanted to enter the ring for their shot at Zimmerman.

The boxing match will be three rounds. Details of the fight, which takes place on March 1, will be announced during a news conference next Wednesday.

Zimmerman has signed a contract with celebrity boxing match promoter Damon Feldman. Feldman is known for his match-ups as he’s pitted Tonya Harding and a waitress together in the ring as well as Octomom vs. Amy Fisher, Tareq Salahi of Real Housewives of D.C. vs. Kato Kaelin, and many more.

One of the 15,000 candidates included rapper the Game, who told radio station V-103 (a Radio.com station), “it ain’t no better contender” than himself. “Let me get in there and smash homie!”

The Game, who has a tattoo of Trayvon Martin on his leg, added that there would be a lesson to be learned if he was allowed to go toe-to-toe with Zimmerman.

“You can have a fight, and nobody don’t gotta die,” he explained. “If George Zimmerman would given the same opportunity to Trayvon, he’d still be alive, right?”
