Taylor Swift has been known to bring out special guests from Tegan and Sara to Johnny Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls during her live show. But for her gig in London she brought out Sam Smith, who is best known for teaming up with Disclosure, and proved that her musical taste is cooler than yours.

For her show at the O2 Arena in London yesterday (Feb. 3), Swift brought out her “absolute favorite” artist, Smith and the two performed his single “Money On My Mind” off his upcoming solo debut, In the Lonely Hour, out May 26. Last month, he release his 7-song EP, Nirvana, which features his debut single.

As the fan-shot video shows, Smith impressed the crowd with his falsetto and got a little help from Tay’s backup singers. Then Taylor joined in, strutting her stuff alongside the singer, who seemed a little bashful over the whole thing.

Before launching into the performance, Taylor gushed over the importance of English radio, where she claims she finds out about all her favorite new artists. Artists she says she ends up hearing in the States months later. Basically, you want to know what Taylor’s listening to, so you can become a music tastemaker just like her.
