Billy Ray Cyrus Offers Justin Bieber His Tennessee Farm to ‘Refocus’
By Annie Reuter
Billy Ray Cyrus is the first to admit that the last thing Justin Bieber needs is another person talking about him to the press. Which is precisely why the country singer was talking to the press about offering Bieber his Tennessee farm as a private sanctuary to re-access.
In an interview with Radio.com last week, Cyrus expressed concern over Bieber’s recent troubles with the law, which now include a Toronto assault charge and last week’s arrest in Miami. “I do care about him a lot,” Cyrus said, adding that he didn’t want to see another case of a star being taken too soon.
“When Kurt Cobain died, I think we could all see that train coming off the track,” he said. “There’s been several that’s happened to. I look back and [think of] Michael Jackson. I wanted so bad to reach out to Michael Jackson, and I knew his kids watched Hanna Montana. I wanted to invite them to the set, become his friend and maybe be something in his life. But sometimes you just stand back and you just watch these things happen.”
Since Bieber’s arrest last week, there have been several comparisons made between him and his idol MJ, most distinctly Bieber’s own. While Cyrus never reached out to Jackson directly, he is making an offer to Bieber and his family in the form of his Tennessee farm.
“Him and his dad, if he wants to bring him, should meet me down at my farm in Tennessee,” Cyrus said. “We should go up to the teepee, all of us have a couple of four-wheelers, build a great big bonfire, watch the hawks and the deer and the turkey, refocus a little bit. Sometimes getting back to nature can do that. I’m going to offer it up to him. If he wants to come down to the farm and get away for a little bit, I think it’d be great. I’d meet him there. I’ll build the fire. I’ll gas up the four-wheelers.”
Cyrus has made headlines — not always positive – for how he raised his daughter Miley. He knows this and accepts it, joking that his book on parenting, titled What To Do And Not To Do, is coming out this summer. What is coming soon, however, is new music from Cyrus. The video for his Dionne Warwick duet, titled “Hope Is Just Ahead,” just dropped today.
