The NFL announced today that country trio The Band Perry will perform as part of the Super Bowl XLVIII pregame show taking place Sunday, Feb. 2 in Rutherford, N.J. The show will also feature American Idol winner Phillip Phillips, along with performances by members of the casts of Broadway productions Jersey Boys and Rock of Ages.
The artists are performing as part of an NFL Tailgate Party, and portions of their performances will be televised live that same day on Fox.
The Super Bowl halftime show this year will feature both Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Chili Peppers are also playing the night before the Super Bowl, headlining WFAN’s “Big Hello to Brooklyn” show at the Barclays Center on Saturday, Feb. 1. New Politics, MS MR, J Roddy Walston & the Business and Basic Vacation are also on the bill for that concert, which is hosted by New York’s WFAN (a Radio.com station).
The Band Perry’s Neil, Reid and Kimberly Perry, who are currently in the country Top 5 with their single “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely,” announced last week they will join Blake Shelton on his 2014 Ten Times Crazier Tour, along with Neal McCoy and Dan + Shay.
