Kanye West is being investigated for misdemeanor assault charges after an altercation Monday afternoon (Jan. 13) with an 18-year-old man in Beverly Hills, CA.
According to reports from TMZ and The Hollywood Reporter, West’s fiancée Kim Kardashian had arrived at a chiropractor’s office alone and was surrounded by paparazzi. The victim, while holding the door for Kardashian to enter the building, swore at the photographers, allegedly saying, “”F*** these f*****-a** n******.”
Kardashian reportedly confronted the man about his language, at which point he screamed at her, “F*** you, b****” and called her a “n***** lover.”
Kardashian then called West on his cell phone, at which point West came into the lobby of the office, found the man, and allegedly punched him. According to TMZ, a massage therapist in the office separated the two men.
The police were called and the victim said he wanted to press charges. West was identified by the victim and witnesses, but had left the office prior to the police’s arrival. The Beverly Hills Police Department are conducting a follow-up investigation in regard to misdemeanor battery charges.
In November of last year, West plead not guilty to misdemeanor battery and grand larceny charges stemming from an incident with a paparazzo in July of 2013. He is due back in court for this case on January 23.
