After a big win some people go home and pop some champagne. Justin Timberlake, he would rather make a run for the border and pick up a Dorito Locos taco.
Last night (Jan. 8) at the People’s Choice Awards on CBS, Timberlake took home three statues including Favorite Male Artist, Favorite R&B Artist and Favorite Album for The 20/20 Experience.
In his speech the singer thanked the fans for voting for him, his parents for “continuing to instill in me that no dream is too big” and his wife, Jessica Biel. “I’d like to thank my beautiful wife for teaching me patience and the little things like just putting the dishes in the dish washer,” he said. “It goes a long way — fellas, you’re welcome!”
Biel did not attend the show with her hubby, but tweeted a message telling the Internet to calm down with the breakup rumors. She was just watching the show from home.
Timberlake also gave a special shout out to his seat buddy for the night, Ellen Degeneres, who took home the award for Favorite Daytime TV Host, a win that earned her the title of the most honored woman in the show’s history with 14 awards. “I would like to thank Ellen for all the personal inspiration and the cookies — bakes a hell of a cookie,” he joked.
After the night was all said and done, JT was ready to celebrate, tweeting, “What do we do after we win 3 PCAs?!?! Easy… Go to Taco Bell!! People’s Champ, baby!!”
The message was accompanied by a photo of Justin, all dressed up in his award’s show duds, hanging out behind the counter with the staff at the Bell. Live Más indeed.
Britney Spears and Taylor Swift won the statues for Favorite Pop Artist and Favorite Country Artist, respectively. Ariana Grande picked up the award for Favorite Breakout Artist. Favorite Country Music Icon went to Tim McGraw. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis earning themselves the prize for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist, while Fall Out Boy won Favorite Alternative Band. And no surprise here, but One Direction walked away with the statue for Favorite Band.
Though Timberlake’s three wins are certainly nothing to sneeze at, it was Sandra Bullock who was the real star of the night, taking home four awards including Favorite Comedic Movie Actress for The Heat and Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress for Gravity. The movie also won Favorite Dramatic Movie and Favorite Movie Duo, an award Bullock shared with co-star George Clooney.
