Ice Cube Announces Release Date for New Album, ‘Everythang’s Corrupt’

Younger pop culture consumers might know Ice Cube more as an actor from roles in such movies as the Friday and Barbershop franchises. But more seasoned hip-hop heads remember when he was considered the most dangerous rapper alive, first as a member of N.W.A., followed by incendiary solo albums like Amerikkka’s Most Wanted.
While Ice Cube continues to make high-profile movies, including the upcoming Ride Along with comedian Kevin Hart (it opens Jan. 17), he still likes to pick up a microphone, announcing a spring release date for what will be his 10th full-length album.
Ice Cube announced on Twitter that the new LP will be titled Everythang’s Corrupt, and will hit retailers on May 13. It will be his first studio effort since 2010’s I Am the West.

He recently teamed up with other classic rap heroes LL Cool J, Public Enemy and De La Soul for last year’s “Kings of the Mic” tour, where Ice Cube represented for the West Coast among the New York hip-hop luminaries.
