Drake and Rich Homie Quan Party with ‘Johnny Football’ and Michigan State, Respectively
College football is wrapping up an exciting 2013/14 bowl season, which has been heavy with highlights and upsets.
At this year’s Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, for example, former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Johnny Manziel (AKA “Johnny Football”) led his Texas A&M Aggies to an impressive win over Duke after being down by as many as 21 points. Manziel celebrated the big victory by flying to Miami to party with no less than his good buddy, Drake, who posted a photo on Instagram commemorating the moment (below).
Drake’s friendship with Manziel has been well documented, with the rapper calling himself “a positive reinforcement” for the young quarterback during a recent interview.
Also seen in the photo is Drake’s OVO associate OB O’Brien, who fans will recognize from the “Started from the Bottom” music video.
The “Worst Behavior” star wasn’t the only rapper getting in on the college bowl game celebrations this year. Rich Homie Quan, whose breakout single, “Type of Way,” had become a locker room anthem for the Michigan State Spartans football squad, was on the sidelines with the team to celebrate their upset win over Stanford in the 100th annual Rose Bowl game.
Quan was at the center of a big celebration dance in the Spartans locker room right alongside the team’s coach, Mike Dantonio, as seen in this post-game video. The party really kicks into high gear around the 3:30 mark, when MSU president Lou Anna Simon joins the festivities.
Drake is set to host and be the musical guest on Saturday Night Live coming up on January 18.
