A$AP Rocky Fan Seriously Injured in Fall at Rapper’s New Year’s Eve Show

One A$AP Rocky fan rang in 2014 in the hospital after falling from the stage at the rapper’s New Year’s Eve show in Australia.
During Rocky’s headlining gig at Perth’s Origin festival, a man made his way up to the stage’s lighting truss, where he decided to hang during the New York rapper’s set. Something Rocky wasn’t too happy about.
In a 30-second video taken by Wiz Khalifa collaborator DJ Bonics, Rocky is seen warning the fan that what he’s doing isn’t safe. “Oh s***, kid — come on man, be careful,” Rocky tells the guy. “Somebody help this kid before he kills himself.”
As the clip shows the fan did try to find a way down, but ended up falling into the crowd instead. “He OK though, right?” Rocky asks after the man crashes to the ground.
Another video, shot by a fan in the crowd, shows that Rocky walked out to where the man fell to check on him. “Yeah, we need some love for him,” Rocky tells the crowd, before reassuring them, “He’s OK, he’s alive y’all.” The rapper then launched into his final song of the night, “F***in’ Problems.”
The local paper, The West Australian, reported that the injuries the man sustained were serious, but not life-threatening.
The paper also spoke with the organizer of the festival, Saran Bajaj, who said it was disappointing that the man tried to slip past security officers, but commended the guards for clearing the space beneath the man so nobody else was seriously hurt.
