Prince will make his comedy debut on network TV next year, and hopefully bring his pajama party with him.

According to E!, the Purple One will guest as himself on an episode of New Girl that is set to air on Super Bowl Sunday (Feb. 2). Though details of his appearance are still hush hush, Prince will apparently intervene in Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess’ (Zooey Deschanel) relationship.

It’s reported that Prince is a fan of the show, which last season featured a cameo from Taylor Swift, and asked to be put into an episode.

While Fox isn’t commenting on whether or not Prince is set to guest star, actress Hannah Simone — who plays Jess’ best friend CeCe on the show– hinted at the news on Twitter.

While Prince isn’t known for his acting roles, he did star in the 1984 film, Purple Rain as “The Kid,” an up and coming Minneapolis singer who comes from a trouble home. He would later go on to win an Oscar for Best Soundtrack.

During the past year, Prince has been releasing new tracks, including “Breakfast Can Wait,” “Groovy Potential,” “Extraloveable Reloaded” and “Ain’t Gonna Miss U When U’re Gone,” prepping fans for his forthcoming album tentatively titled Plectrum Electrum with his new band, 3RDEYEGIRL. Prince is also slated to headline the Essence Festival in New Orleans in July, with shows scheduled from now until next summer.
