The artwork for John Mayer and Katy Perry‘s duet “Who You Love” dropped yesterday (Dec. 2) and the Internet would like to have a word, please. Perry is shown draped on the couch in a black slip while Mayer sits on the ground beside her with his de rigueur acoustic guitar. Shot by Mario Sorrenti, the black-and-white photo was revealed late yesterday on both Mayer’s Tumblr and Instagram. Almost instantaneously, fans and critics alike had some pithy barbs ready to submit. Here’s the five more scathing reactions.
1. Jezebel: “John Mayer looks like the most irritating person in your freshman year dorm, all pensive with an acoustic guitar.”

3. The Frisky: “My favorite photo is the one where John’s denim shirt (natch) has amputated Katy’s hand. Also, they look like siblings which makes me sort of uncomfy.”
4. Daily Mail: “At least they’re not riding a motorbike!”
5. Celebitchy: “My take is that John will stick it out for a while; there will be an “engagement” (possibly around the holidays, maybe he’ll dress up like Santa again); then John will get cold feet and mercilessly dump Katy.”
