Watch Bono Cover Daft Punk’s ‘Get Lucky’ With Nile Rodgers

Unless you were at Jony and Marc’s (RED) auction on Saturday (Nov 23) held at Sothebys New York, you probably weren’t aware that Bono got up on stage with Nile Rodgers and sang Daft Punk‘s ubiquitous summer jam “Get Lucky”.  Now, there’s footage that you can check out below of the U2 singer going in on what Nile Rodgers called the “most influential song of his career.” This is approximately the one millionth cover of Daft Punk’s song, but perhaps the only whose performance raised money for AIDS.

“Get Lucky” peaked at No. 2 on the charts this summer, and has spent 29 weeks on the Billboard charts.

Charity performance notwithstanding, how does it stack up to Florence Welch’s tipsy cover of the song? Or Barack Obama’s? Or Wilco’s? Or a Russian police choir? Or this dude on a banjo?
