OutKast Have Reunited, Will Tour In 2014, Probably Headlining Coachella
OutKast, the famous Atlanta rap duo of André 3000 and Big Boi, will reunite after an almost seven-year hiatus. Revolt TV broke the news earlier tonight (via Stereogum), confirming that the group will tour in 2014. This confirmation comes after speculation from Billboard earlier in the day that the group would reunite for a possible Coachella performance next year.
Update: Consequence of Sound reports that a photo posted to Instagram by longtime Dungeon Family associate and producer Sleepy Brown all but confirms the previous reports that OutKast will be headlining Coachella.
After 2006’s Idlewild, the two put the group on indefinite hiatus to focus on their respective solo careers, with Big Boi releasing his debut solo album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty, and André guesting on several tracks in interim, most notably T.I.’s “I’m Sorry”, where André apologized to Big Boi for his part in not getting OutKast back together.
Exact tour dates, and that rumored Coachella performance, have yet to be confirmed.
