Last night (November 14) at 12:01 AM ET, Lady Gaga teamed up with Swedish fashion retailer H&M to open their newest New York City store in Times Square. But it wasn’t just a fashion show. The superstar is teaming up with H&M to sell her latest album, ARTPOP. The retailer will carry her album in all 175 stores this week and sold for $9.95.
Fans turned out en masse, some waiting for over 30 hours, to see the singer make an appearance for the store’s grand opening and the chance at a golden ticket — 20 from the first 1,000 in line were selected at random and allowed in 30 minutes prior to opening to shop with the singer.
Gaga wore an H&M jumpsuit, although she, of course, put her personal touch on it. The item was hand painted by her designer/stylist Kerin Rose, Elle UK reports. This Times Square store will also be the first in the nation to sell the highly anticipated Isabel Marant collection for H&M. The collection has already caused lines of frenzied buyers at H&M stores across the world.
