For his latest music video, Harlem rapper A$AP Rocky has recruited actor Michael K. Williams (best known for his work on the HBO series The Wire and Boardwalk Empire) and model Joan Smalls to star in the cinematic clip for his latest single, “Phoenix.”

The glossy and dramatic music video is a highly stylized affair that depicts Williams and Smalls as a couple embroiled in an epic, house-destroying battle interspersed with shots of Rocky rapping the minimal and moody track in a fashionable wide-brimmed hat and red sweater.

The video also boasts some behind the scenes star power. The clip’s story was co-written by Asia Argento, the actress who starred alongside Vin Diesel in the 2002 action flick, xXx.

“Phoenix” is the latest track taken from Rocky’s official studio debut album, Long. Live. A$AP., released in January of this year.

While A$AP Rocky is currently finishing his stint opening for Rihanna on her Diamonds World Tour this week with shows in Houston and New Orleans, the rapper is dealing with much more serious matters in Pennsylvania.

Yesterday, Wednesday November 13, he made an appearance in a Philadelphia courtroom to face charges for allegedly slapping a 24-year-old woman in the face while making his way through the crowd during a performance at this year’s Made in America festival.
