Lady Gaga’s latest ARTPOP track “Dope” has Mother Monster laying it all on the line. Sure, the cover features her in one of her more disturbing getups–plaque-ridden buck teeth and bruised thighs–but the song itself is a stripped down love song that has Gaga wailing about her lover being her favorite fix. (Listen below.)

While the other tracks from her upcoming album, out Nov. 11, like “Applause,” “Venus,” “Aura” and the R. Kelly-assisted “Do What U Want,” are perfect for the dancefloor, this one’s probably better for crying alone in the shower.

On it Gaga stays behind the piano to make a nod to Led Zeppelin and more than a few not-so-veiled drug references singing on the chorus, “I need you more than dope.”

Last night, Gaga debuted the song on the first annual YouTube Music Awards in New York City. For the bare bones performance Gaga even shed a few tears. Watch below.
