With Arcade Fire in full-tilt pre-release promo mode for the band’s highly anticipated new album, Reflektor, (including a recent “secret” show in Brooklyn reviewed by Radio.com), a single record store in Ireland jumped the gun and decided to start selling copies ahead of the official release date (Oct. 25 in Ireland), causing the band to stream the whole thing in its entirety.

Stream Arcade Fire’s ‘Reflektor’ here.

According to Canada.com, the leak was first reported yesterday (Oct. 23) by Arcade Fire Tube, a dedicated fan account on Twitter, going on to retweet a posting by an Irish shopper who was able to purchase two copies of Reflektor at Rollercoaster Records in Kilkenny, Ireland (the tweet with a photo of the purchased albums has since been deleted).

After someone who purchased Reflektor at Rollercoaster Records posted the album online, the band’s management decided enough is enough and shut down the errant sales.

It would appear, however, that Rollercoaster Records was not the only offender to start selling Reflektor early. Another Arcade Fire fan posted a photo on Twitter dated Oct. 22 that shows the album for sale at a store in the Czech Republic.

With Reflektor now leaking like a proverbial sieve, Arcade Fire has done the sensible thing and released the band’s fourth studio album in streaming format for fans to give it a listen before the official North American release date of October 28. Check out the album art below:
