Interview: Ellie Goulding on Drake, New Music & the Press Focusing on Her Looks Instead of Her Songs
Hours before Ellie Goulding rocked the stage with Katy Perry for our big We Can Survive concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles last night (October 23), the British singer sat down with Radio.com. Topics on the table included the biggest challenges she’s faced as a female performer, her go-to girl-power anthem, her favorite new artists of the moment (it’s a long list), and how her voice ended up on Drake’s “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2” off his latest album, Nothing Was The Same.
Though she just released Halcyon Days, a deluxe edition of 2012’s Halcyon, Goulding also discussed her upcoming recording plans. But, she says, it might be awhile.
“I feel like it’s going to come together so much more when I find the right producer,” Goulding said. “But my instincts are telling me I’m not ready to start properly. I’ve been so horrendously busy with Halcyon and I’m still very committed to it and attached to it and I feel like I’m not quite ready to move on to something, a new chapter.”
