UPDATE (10/16, 2:43 p.m. EST)

Since yesterday’s announcement that A Tribe Called Quest would be joining Kanye West for two shows in New York, the legendary rap group’s leader, Q-Tip has taken to Twitter to announce that these two upcoming shows are their final gigs.

Q-Tip wrote:  “In August, ATCQ did our last show FOR Cali. It’s only right we do our FINAL 2 joints where we started…NYC”

A Tribe Called Quest announced their breakup in 1998, but reunited six years later for Rock the Bells. Since then they’ve toured occasionally, but haven’t released any new music since 1998’s The Love Movement. In 2011, Michael Rappaport directed the documentary, Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest, which documented the drama behind the band.

As if seeing Kanye wasn’t good enough, New York fans will also get a chance to see A Tribe Called Quest when Yeezy makes his way to the Big Apple.

A Tribe Called Quest was announced as the special guest for Kanye’s November 20 show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and his November 24 gig at Madison Square Garden, according to Miss Info. This is the first non-festival tour date from the rap group who played four festivals this summer including the Yahoo! Wireless Festival in London and the H2O Music Festival in Los Angeles.

Kendrick Lamar, who is supporting ‘Ye for the majority of the Yeezus tour, has also been added to both New York area dates.

Pusha T was also announced as the opener for October 25th in Las Vegas.
