With her current single “Roar” at No. 2 on the Hot 100, Katy Perry has announced that her next Prism single will be the emotional power ballad, “Unconditionally.”

“I think it’s a universal love song that everyone’s going to be able to relate to no matter the age, no matter male or female,” Perry told MTV while teasing the second single announcement. “It’s my favorite song off the record.”

Revealing her next single is just one of the new revelations of what to expect when Prism is released on October 11. According to Billboard, the album is packed with autobiographical references to her life between this record and 2010 studio effort, Teenage Dream.

Songs like “Ghost” speak frankly on her divorce from comedian Russell Brand (including such lines as “You sent a text/It’s like the wind changed your mind”), while other tracks such as “Spiritual” and “Legendary Lovers” are about finding peace through therapy and Transcendental Meditation. “By the Grace of God,” on the other hand, is a little less… well, peaceful.

“That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point,” she continued in the aforementioned Billboard cover story.I asked myself, ‘Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?’ All the songs are real-life moments. I can only write autobiographically. I put all the evidence in the music. I tell my fans if they want to know the real truth about stuff, just listen to the songs.”

While fans prepare for the release of Prism and wait patiently for the inevitable tour dates that will follow, Katy Perry has announced that her lone 2013 concert will be a breast cancer benefit, scheduled for Oct. 23 at L.A.’s legendary Hollywood Bowl. Also on the bill will be Ellie Goulding, Tegan and Sara and Casey Musgraves. Win a trip to L.A. to see the show and meet Perry, via Radio.com.
