A new season of television is just around the corner and for NCIS, this year that will include a new soundtrack.

The soundtrack, which will be released on September 24 in conjunction with the debut of season 11 of the show, is set to feature tracks from Neon Trees, Lady Antebellum, Hank Williams, Patty Griffin and many more — plus two tracks sung by the show’s stars. Pauley Perrette and Michael Weatherly contribute original songs, which you can preview below, along with a new take on the show’s theme song by composer Brian Kirk.

NCIS: Benchmark is available to order on iTunes.

Pauley Perrette “Somebody Saved You”

“I wrote ‘Somebody Saved You’ after watching the constant news footage of the Boston bombings, the tornados, the fires, and other devastating events,” Perrette said in a release issued by CBS. “In the midst of these events, there are always the indelible images of people helping each other. I wrote the song as a love letter to all fire fighters and first responders… and for everyone that lends a helping hand.”

Michael Weatherly “Under The Sun”

In a release from CBS, Weatherly said,  “[this track is a] mysterious song about letting go of the urge to control things during the journey of life. It came from a deep look at myself and whether I was being authentic or just sliding by on ‘shallow charm.’ We are all comprised of different people inside and the sun in the song represents the truth that we all carry. As time goes on we change and grow, always searching for a place inside ourselves that feels authentic.”

Perrette and Weatherly offered up some of their musical inspirations — the songs they listen to while they’re getting ready, that have inspired their style, that they find uplifting — in the original playlists below.
