Rage Against the Machine’s Zack De La Rocha Reemerges on Deltron 3030’s ‘Melding of the Minds’

After ruling the ’90s as the frontman of incendiary rock rebels Rage Against the Machine, singer Zack de la Rocha has kept a relatively low profile.

While the other members have gone on to work on other high-profile projects (particularly guitarist Tom Morello, AKA The Nightwatchman), de la Rocha’s long-rumored solo album featuring DJ Shadow and Nine Inch NailsTrent Reznor, fans have had to make due with One Day as a Lion, the singer’s project with Jon Theodore (formerly of the Mars Volta, currently drumming for Queens of the Stone Age) and that band’s sole eponymous EP, which was released in 2008.

This week, rapper Deltron 3030 (better known by his more familiar moniker, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien) released new song “Melding of the Minds,” which prominently features the vocals of de la Rocha during the explosive track’s chorus.

The song is taken from Deltron 3030’s upcoming new album, Event II, due on October 1. Among the album’s many high-profile guest stars include Damon Albarn, Aaron Bruno of AWOLNATION and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
