Britney’s gonna make you work.
The singer announced that her new single, “Work Bitch,” will be released September 16. We can only hope that she’ll be saying those three glorious words, “It’s Britney, bitch” more than a few times throughout the track. That simple phrase has served Britney well, from its appearance on her own song, “Gimme More,” to its inclusion on will.i.am’s “Scream and Shout.”
“Work Bitch” will be on Britney’s upcoming 8th album. Though the record doesn’t have a release date or title just yet, we do know that Will is a producer on the album. Before “Scream and Shout,” he previously collaborated with Spears on her song “Big Fat Bass” off her 2011 album, Femme Fatale, which he wrote, produced and guested on.
Charli XCX has also been enlisted to write songs for the project. “I didn’t even want to go to the session I was so excited,” Charli said. “I was so worried I would f**k it up… I was doing some stuff for that yesterday actually. Who knows how it will go. We’ve written one song and it’s a great track and if she likes it then amazing. It was just an honor to be asked.”
More details on new Britney music are expected next week as well. Last month, Spears launched a countdown clock that teases a big surprise for September 17 at 9:30 a.m. ET. Could it be her video for “Work Bitch,” which she’s been tweeting about for the last week? Britney revealed a sassy photo of her and her abs from the set of the shoot. She also tweeted that the video will be “epic” and was filmed in the desert so she got herself a pretty good tan.
It’s also been confirmed that Spears is teaming up with Miley Cyrus for a song called “SMS (BANGERZ)” off Miley’s album, Bangerz, out October 8.
We’re apparently not ready for Brit Brit and Miley’s upcoming collabo. You’ve been warned.
