“Your boy is back with some new music!” Travie McCoy tweeted earlier, and he wasted no time in getting right to it.

McCoy promises a 2014 follow-up to Lazarus, his debut solo album featuring 2010′s inescapable hit  “Billionaire” featuring Bruno Mars. In the meantime, McCoy’s got a new collaboration single, “Rough Water” featuring Jason Mraz, which he debuted today. Listen below.

On “Rough Water,” McCoy teamed up with producer Benny Blanco (Katy Perry, Wiz Khalifa), whom he previously worked with on Gym Class Heroes‘ 2011 hit with Maroon 5‘s Adam Levine, “Stereo Hearts.”

The track kicks off with Mraz’s falsetto singing, “Hey, never let go of me/Hold tight it’s gonna get hard to breathe” alongside delicate strums of the acoustic guitar. Soon McCoy’s familiar raps enter. “I’ll never make you suffer/All I ask for in return is some reciprocation/I’ll be your oxygen when you’re running out of patience.”

While “Rough Water” doesn’t quite embody the anthemic feel of “Billionaire,” it does have some “oh-oh-oh’s” and a few zeitgeist-y lines for the kids (“This type of love we got, they’ll never get it I’ll be the Leo DiCaprio to your Kate Winslet/Sometimes I panic but I never take you for granted/I’ll hold you til my lips turn blue like Jack in Titanic”).
