Avenged Sevenfold are bowing down to the metal gods in their video for “Hail To The King,” off their sixth album of the same name (out Aug. 27).

The black and white clip tells the story of a boy who prepares to take the keys to the throne.

In between closeup shots of the band rocking out, we watch the medieval tale, which includes lots of skulls, gothic ladies and an axe-wielding henchman, unfold.

The video also gives fans a look at Arin Ilegay behind the kit. Hail To The King is the the first A7X album to feature Ilegay on drums. The band’s former drummer and founding member, James “The Rev” Sullivan, passed away in 2009.

The day before the release of Hail To The King (August 26), Avenged Sevenfold will play a free show at the Hollywood Palladium. The band kicks off their U.S. tour featuring Deftones and Ghost B.C. on October 3 in Chicago.
